HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy

Course Overview

The course is currently a compulsory annual requirement for all people who are required to work in the diving industry within the Commonwealth of Australia or who dive as part of their employment duties.

It satisfies training requirements of the Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (โ€œADASโ€) and includes:

  • Severe bleed management.
  • DRSABCD (the โ€œPrimary Surveyโ€).
  • Recovery Position.
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with ARC Guidelines.
  • Discussion of diver related conditions including drowning, lung injuries, heart attacks, hypothermia and Decompression Sickness (โ€œDCSโ€).
  • Severe bleed management.
  • Use of disposable resuscitators, OxyVivas and DAN O2 units.

Delivery Method

Face-to-Face and Online Learning.


Course Requirements

A basic understanding of spoken and written English, as well as a basic level of physical fitness is required to complete this course.



Pre-requisites


It is a national requirement that prior to your attendance in this course you have completed and been issued with a Statement of Attainment for the pre-requisite unit of competency HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
